Organized by the Order of Doctors of Agronomy and Forestry of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the event had a large participation of operators in the sector. After the greetings of the Regional Assessor of Rural Resources, food and forestry Mr. Claudio Violino, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Udine Prof. Roberto Pinton and the President of the Federation of Regional Associations of Doctors of Agronomy and Forestry of Friuli Venezia Ms. Giulia Antonio. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Agr. Giovanni Bigot Vice-Chair of Agronomy and Forestry of Gorizia and Trieste. The subject was introduced through an exhaustive examination of the Directive by Dr. Petricca of Mipaaf. The discussion continued touching diffrent topics. Dr. Enrico Antignati of CONCAf explained the position of the National Counsil on the role that agronomists should take and how it is desiderable they operate to make an efficient application of the rules indicated. More linked to the territory was the intervention of Dr. Carlo Frausin, with an overview on the use of pesticides in the region and the activity of ERSA in monitoring and providing support to those who use.
Prof. Marco Trevisan, from Catholic University of Piacenza, brought the experience of OPERA Research Centre, a think tank whose mission is to review and propose possible strategies by identifying environmental risk indicators that enable the parctical application of the Directive. More technical was the contribution of Prof. Pergher, from University of Udine, on the mitigation of risk that is derived through the us of appropriate machinery and equipment durin the application in the vineyard. Dr. Pierluigi Meriggi of Horta Ltd., Spin Off of the Catholic University of Piacenza, showed the results of a survey pointing out the risks of pollution that may occur on farms during the different steps in which plant protection producs are involved. The event was closed with the speech of Dr. David Pierleoni, Director of IMC, who showed how the solutions adopted in the biological agriculture match the requirements of the new regulation. |
