Bee-good Bee health in Europe - Facts and Figures
During the summer of 2011, OPERA identified the need to produce a report on state-of-art information on the issue of pollinators in agricultural systems, but focusing more on the managed honeybees and wild bees (solitary bees, bumble bees). An international Group of experts has been set up in order to produce the report.

Symposium in Pesticide Chemistry

The Symposium is organized by the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry of the Catholic University together with a committee of top level scientists and  will held general and specialist subjects relating to the environmental fate and risk with particular reference to pesticide behaviour in air, plant, soil and water system

Workshop on the Directive for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides in Spain

OPERA Research Centre and the Industry Association for Plant Protection of Spain (AEPLA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment of Spain co-organized in Madrid the workshop entitled “Workshop on the Directive for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides in Spain”. This stakeholder workshop gathered up to 70 representatives from National Authorities, different associations, the private sector and NGOs.


On the 5th and 6th of June 2012, under the umbrella of the European Bees and Pollination Week at the European Parliament, was organized the conference “Biodiversity, a culture to share”. OPERA had an active participation with the presentation of “Concepts and practices to improve biodiversity in agricultural ecosystems” that was given by the director Prof. Ettore Capri.

The Directive 2009/128/EC on the sustainable use of pesticides
Organized by the Order of Doctors of Agronomy and Forestry of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the event had a large participation of operators in the sector.
2nd BROWSE Stakeholders Meeting
On the 14th and 15th of December at the OPERA Research Center offices was organized the second BROWSE Stakeholders Meeting. The two days workshop was dedicated to training and awareness raising materials and to risk indicators.
XIV Symposium in Pesticide Chemistry: Pesticides in the environment: fate, modeling and risk mitigation
The 14th Symposium of Pesticide Chemistry was edited by the Institute of Agriculture and Environmental Chemistry of the Catholic University and was held in Piacenza- Italy, from 30th August- 1st September 2011. General and special subjects regarding to environmental fate of pesticides, modelling, risk characterization, risk prevention and mitigation were covered.

Seminar on Indicators and Quantitative Targets to meet the objectives of the Sustainable Use Directive
Brusells 27th of January 2011- OPERA has dedicated the activity of an expert working group to develop a pragmatic recommendation for the selection of risk indicators and targets which would constitute the basis for the elaboration of the National Action Plans for the SUD.
